Rocks And Leaves

After lunch, Joe and I went for our regular walk. This time we explored a short side trail that took us to a boulder field:




I think this is a Mountain Ash branch hanging over the stream. I have a similar looking tree in my backyard:


The leaves are turning color now:


One of the benefits of these walks are the pretty natural things that I can use for home decor. For example I put together this centerpiece. I also filled a tall pot with branches of red leaves:

Hey, Halloween is in just one week. I'm dressing up as a cowgirl.

The boulder field was a fun find, resulting from taking a narrow side trail off our regular hike. There are sure to be many more like it as we explore the lower little cottonwood canyon trail.
